Mental Health Month Awareness
May is Mental Health Month. It provides an opportunity to reflect on the unnecessary stigma that often prevents struggling individuals from seeking help.
According to Mental Health America's 2021 State of Mental Health in America Report, mental health challenges are increasing. The U.S. sees the highest reported anxiety and depression levels since March 2020, fueled by pandemic-related loneliness and isolation. 19% of adults experienced mental illness in 2020, an increase of 1.5 million people over 2019.
Our Commitment to Mental Health
Systems & Software and parent company Harris take employee mental health seriously, offering the Because We Care program focused on physical, emotional, and financial well-being. Harris recognizes important cultural dates and maintains Inclusion and Diversity Groups including Women in Leadership, LGBTQ+ and Allies, and Working Parents.
The Road Ahead Shows Promise
One in five Americans experiences mental health challenges annually, yet only four in ten adults receive appropriate care. Reducing stigma through awareness and education is essential to improving access to mental health services.
